The annual awards at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel to find Britain’s best Indian restaurants saw a gathering of over 600 people at a gala event hosted by Journalist and Broadcaster, Michael Buerk.
Recognising the best 13 restaurants in the country and the best in our county, Himalaya Tandoori, in Bridgnorth fought off still competition to become “Best Indian Restaurant in Shropshire” at the Curry Life Awards 2017.
Owner of Himalaya Tandoori Restaurant, Dave Miah said: “I am delighted to receive this award which is one of the most prestigious in the curry industry and I want to thank my customers and staff for helping me to achieve this. For over 35 years The Himalaya has served authentic Indian food to the people of Bridgnorth and it is nice to see this recognised in the award today.”
The gala was attended by many prominent people from the restaurant trade along with guests including Lord Karan Bilimoria, founder and chairman of Cobra beer, Rushanara Ali MP, Matt Western MP, Wes Streeting MP, Paul Scully MP and Sir Keir Starmer MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union.
